About

I sold my first piece of jewellery at age nine in a sailing club in the South Pacific. I used my Mum's waxed sailing twine, kept for making repairs on the little yacht we lived on, and plaited sturdy cowrie shell anklets with it. Growing up, I graduated to pearl earrings, most of which my grandmother bought for her friends, and then went on to study goldsmithing.

Looking around at the jewellery market, I thought there were a lot of brands making fast fashion jewellery or selling diamond engagement rings. I didn't really want to do either. My dream was to make solid gold pieces you bought for yourself, wore every day and then handed down to your grandchildren.

I design for people conscious of how their jewellery is made, the sourcing and quality of the materials and supporting local craftsmanship. People looking for a new kind of luxury, expressing their values as well as their aesthetic. Nardour was founded on this idea.

The flagship Nardour collection is small, considered and made slowly, to last from solid gold. My customers are people looking for a piece to complete their personal everyday uniform. I source recycled Australian and New Zealand nine carat gold for its durability, and pair it with upcycled antique pearls in my Melbourne studio.

I hope you find your piece here, and enjoy wearing it as much as I do,

Caitlin
